There are Five National Parks and 13 Wildlife Sanctuaries in Kerala. These parks and sanctuaries cover 2250 sq km, which is 24 percent of the total forest area and 6 percent of the total land area of the state. All these National Parks and sanctuaries are famous tourist destinations and are frequently visited by tourists to experience the enjoyment of watching wildlife in their natural habitat and to get a feel of the scenic excellence of Kerala.

Itinerary

  1. Day 01

    Bangalore - Mysore

    By Flight

    Upon your arrival at Bangalore Airport you will be met and assisted by Go India Holiday representative and transferred to Mysore upon arrival at Mysore check in at the hotel. Visit Maharaja Palace, Devaraja Fruit and vegetable market and Tipu Sultan Palace and overnight stay at Hotel.

  2. Day 02

    Mysore - Madhumalai

    Morning after breakfast you will proceed for Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary was the first sanctuary in south India. The land is extremely varied with hills, valleys, narrow valleys, waterways and swamps. It includes of tropical moist deciduous forests, dry deciduous forests and scrub forests. Compared to the nearby reserves, the climate is warmer in Mudumalai. Overnight at Hotel.

  3. Day 03

    Madhumalai

     

    Morning after breakfast you can go for Safari and Jungle tour of Madumalai, The range of Mudumalai wildlife Sanctuary is the same as in Bandipur (another famous sanctuary near it) but the Mudumalai has two features which makes different from its neighbors - the Moyar River and closeness to the Nilgiri mountain ranges which has variety of wildlife. The Mudumalai wildlife Sanctuary has varied mixture of flat land, rising and falling parkland, open grassland, swamp, valleys and nulas. The Mayyar River in this area shapes a sequence of spectacular view from on its way from Udhagamandalam - Mysore highway. Mudumalai wildlife Sanctuary could be reached Mysore as well.   4. Day 04

    Madhumalai - Wayanad

    After Breakfast check out the hotel & proceed to Wayanad. Wayanad name is derived from “wayalnadu” mean’s land of paddy fields. Having the largest concentration of tribal population was once known as “Africa” in kerala. This is tourist’s paradise of kerala & kerala’s answer to Tamilnadu’s Ooty or Karnataka’s Coorg. Wayanad is the largest producer of pepper in the country. On the way visit Nanjungud, Banasura dam (The second largest dam in Asia) & Bhagavathi temple. On arrival Wayanad check in the hotel.     Wayanad

    After Breakfast visit Lakkidi, the gateway to Wayanad, Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery, Pookkot Lake & kuruvadeep where one would come across a variety of vegetation, some rare orchids and wild flowers. These are also haven for migratory birds. The avian life here includes hornbills, parrots and a host of butterfly species. Late in the evening return back to the hotel. Have a delicious dinner & over night relax at Hotel.

    Wayanad - Calicut

    Morning after breakfast proceed to Calicut. On arrival, check into you hotel where you can unwind. It was in Calicut that the great voyager Vasco Da Gama landed in the 14th century in his quest for spices thus putting it on the world map. The traditional capital of North Kerala and a leading trading centre for spices on the west, the city has retained its glorious past and presents travellers with historic sites and a unique culture.In the afternoon drive to Beypore, a prominent port and fishing harbour of ancient Kerala. You could visit the fish markets or venture into town and visit the Sweet Meat Street and the many colourful shops. Overnight at Hotel.

  7. Day 07

    Calicut - Palaghat

    Palaghat is rightfully known as the Gateway of Kerala, giving the rest of India access to the State. Its other name is Palghat was contributed by British Raj. Palakkad is a land of palm trees and paddy fields. It's known to be rich in flora and fauna.Palakkad is prime among Kerala's most picturesque districts, thanks to its distinctive palmyra trees and extensive green paddy fields. Palakkad lies near the Palghat Gap, a pass or natural depression through the Western Ghats ranges that run parallel to the west coast of India, and connects Kerala to the plains of the state of Tamil Nadu to the east. The Silent Valley National Park that abruptly rises to the Nilgiris is an everlasting marvel to the tourists. The abundant forest wealth, dams, wild life sanctuaries, rivers, rare birds and animals, historical monuments, traditional ayurvedic treatment centres have given Palakkad an exquisite and outstanding touch. Over night at a Olappamanna Mana is located at Vellinezhi, a small village, surrounded by unpolluted river Kunthi on northern and western sides and is literarily famous as Thourathrika Gramam (village with the perfect blending of music, rhythm and dance).   8. Day 08

    Palaghat - Munnar

    In the morning depart for Munnar enjoying the scenic beauty & the marvellous waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by. On the way to Munnar you can see tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometres, lush green hills, a place so difficult to describe, very low population too far from pollution, most of the area covered by Tata tea. On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at Munnar.

  9. Day 09

    Munnar - Periyar

    Morning after breakfast, 0900 Hrs check out from Hotel and we take you to Thekkady (120 Kms) i.e. about four hours of journey. Throughout this journey you can enjoy different types of spice plantations like cardamom, vanilla, pepper, etc. On arrival at Thekkady check into Hotel. After taking some rest, go for Boating in the Periyar Lake, one of the popular tourist attractions. Evening you are lucky to avail, Kathakali The traditional dance performance , Spice plantation Tour and Ayurvedic massage. Overnight stay in Hotel at Thekkady at Hotel.

  10. Day 10

    Periyar

     

    Morning after breakfast visit the Periyar National Park. Watching the rare and endangered species of the animals such as Asian elephants, barking deer, gaur, sambar, wild dogs and strolling in their herds, provides you the most enchanting experience of the lifetime. Apart from exploring the different species of plants and animals you can also enjoy wildlife photography. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  11. Day 11

    Periyar - Alleppey

    Morning have your breakfast proceed to Alleppey where at about 12.00 noon you can check in to the much awaited houseboat. Cruising in a House Boat through the back waters of Kerala is the fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwaters, rivers and canals. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and breakfast will be served on board. Enjoy your evening on the sun decked sand and shore. Overnight stay at House Boat will be a unique experience. (Air conditioner in the houseboat will be on only from 09 P.M. to 06 A.M. ).

    Alleppey - Cochin

After fresh-up you can go for sightseeing of Cochin which includes the Jewish Synagogue, Mattanchery Palace, St.Francis Church and the Chinese Fishing Nets.
