Itinerary

  1. Day 01

    - Chennai

    By Flight

    Arrive Chennai - the gateway to southern India, established in 1639 by the East India Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country. Assistance and transfer to hotel. Upon arrival check at Hotel. Overnight at hotel.

  2. Day 02

    Chennai - Tirupati

    154 kms / 03 hrs

    After breakfast, proceed to half day sightseeing tour of Chennai, after drive to Tirupathi. Tirupathi is a temple town known for the famous ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara (Lord of seven hills or Balaji, as he is affectionately known ) on the top of the 860mts high Tirumala hills. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is not only believed to be amongst the oldest temples in the country, but also the richest of them all . Legend has it that Lord Venkateswara borrowed money from the divine treasurer Kubera for his wedding expenses. He is still paying back this debt which is why the pilgrims donate generously to the temple funds. Overnight at Tirupathi.

  3. Day 03

    Tirupati - Kanchipuram

    110 kms / 03 hrs

    After breakfast drive to Kanchipuram– is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara , Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks. Evening free for leisure Overnight at Hotel.

  4. Day 04

    Kanchipuram - Tiruvannamalai

    112 kms / 03 hrs

    After breakfast drive to Tiruvannamallai(112kms/03hrs)- a pilgrim centre with an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. Thiruvannamalai is one of the prominent spiritual and religious centres of Tamil Nadu.  For the same reason, flocks of orange-clad, bhajan-singing Sadhus would be a common sight in the streets and around the temples. It is often said that a pilgrimage to this holy place would rejuvenate you, both in body and mind. The life of the town mainly revolves around a famed temple - the Arunachaleswara temple.  Every year, four Brahmotsavams are celebrated here, the most famous of which is the Karthika Deepam.   Another interesting tradition unique to this town is the barefoot moonlight ‘pradakshina’ by pilgrims, around the Arunachala Mountain to please Lord Shiva. The name has been derived from that of the holy mountain, Thiruvannanmalai.  Legend goes that Shiva appeared in the form of the Ardhanareeshwara, half man-half woman in Thiruvannamalai.

  5. Day 05

    Tiruvannamalai - Trichy

    125 kms / 03 hrs

    After breakfast leave for Trichy, short name of Trichurapalli, situated on the banks of Kaveri River is a blend of history and tradition as well as pilgrim centre, it is famous for Ranganath temple at Srirangam. Checkin at hotel. After lunch city tour visiting Rock fort and its temple at a height of over 23mts. Also visit Srirangam and Jambukeshwar Temple. Dinner and overnite at hotel.

  6. Day 06

    Trichy - Madurai

    150 kms / 04 hrs

    Morning proceed for sightseeing tour of Thiruchirapalli including visit to the Ranganathan Temple at Srirangam, 10 kms away from Trichy. Afternoon drive to Madurai and transfer to hotel. After Freshen up visit the ancient city of Madurai, some 2600 years old is laid out in the banks of river Vaigai as a lotus flower with the Meenakshi temple in the centre. Afternoon city tour visiting - Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Night stay in Madurai.

  7. Day 07

    Madurai - Rameshwaram

    150 kms / 03 hrs

    After breakfast proceed to Rameshwaram- the most sacred temple town of India is an island hallowed by the epic Ramayana, where Lord Rama is said to have visited before going into battle of Srilanka. Legend has it that Lord Rama sent Hanuman to Mount Kailash to bring a Lingam for worship when he set foot after defeating Ravana. As Hanuman did not return when the auspicious hour was approaching, Sita made a sand Lingam so that worship could be performed in time, which is where the present day Ramanatha Swamy Temple stands close to sea on the eastern side of the island. One of the twelve Jyotirlingam shrines is also well known for its magnificent corridors and the massive sculptured pillars lining them. Overnight at Hote.

  8. Day 08

    Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari

    300 kms / 06 hrs

    After breakfast free for leisure or darshan after check out from Hotel and drive to Kanyakumari, on arrival check into Hotel. Afternoon free for leisure or own activities. Overnight at Hotel.

  9. Day 09

    Kanyakumari

     

    After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Kanyakumari – visit Suchithram Temple, Devi.Kanyakumari Temple, Vivekananda Rock, Gandhi Memorial and Triveni Sangam. Evening watch the most beautiful Sunset of Kanyakumari. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kanyakumari.

  10. Day 10

    Kanyakumari - Kovalam

    100 kms / 02 hrs

    After breakfast check out from Hotel and drive to Trivandrum. Enroute visit the Sri Padmanabhapuram Palace, Also visit the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum which is the richest temple in the world, Museum, Secratariat etc. Overnight at Hotel.

  11. Day 11

    Kovalam - Trivandrum

    Departure (15 kms )

    Morning after breakfast drive to Trivendrum airport to connect flight for onwards destination.
